Seoul Forest Park - Map

This fictional illustration project was created during my exchange at Kookmin University in Seoul. I developed an illustrative leaflet for Seoul Forest Park, one of the city's largest and most beloved green spaces. The park is known for its wide open areas, dense woodlands, ponds, and diverse wildlife, making it the perfect spot for walks, picnics, and spending quality time with family and friends.

As with many of my illustration projects, I began by immersing myself fully in the environment. I spent several hours exploring the park, observing the people, landscapes, and small everyday moments. This time spent on location allowed me to understand the way people interact with the space.
I drew inspiration from real park-goers, families enjoying walks, friends chatting by the ponds, and individuals soaking in the serenity of nature. Capturing their gestures, postures, and activities was essential in recreating the authentic atmosphere of Seoul Forest Park in my illustrations.

The leaflet features a detailed illustrated map on one side, highlighting the main areas and points of interest within the park. On the reverse side, a vibrant full-page illustration captures the lively spirit and natural beauty of the park. The design balances informative navigation with a sense of playful discovery.
The aim of the project was to design a vibrant, inviting leaflet that would represent the essence of Seoul Forest Park and help visitors navigate its various attractions. I created two versions of the leaflet: a Korean version and an English version, each distinguished by a unique colour palette.
